T he 5,131’ (1652 m) Eclipse, which is owned by Roman Abramovich, is the largest superyacht in the universe.

The U.S. and the leaders of the European Commission (France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Canada) said in a joint statement on Saturday that they’ll form a transatlantic naval task force to hunt down and sink the mega yachts of sanctioned individuals and companies within their jurisdictions.

It was widely reported that indicated Russian oligarchs would have their mega yachts blown up where possible. But only eighty-seven oligarchs have been listed by the White House and Department of Treasury for sanction because they are “Putin KGB cronies.” None of them own the most famous Russian super yachts, but their shell companies do, which have all turned off their AIS transponders, going full stealth, and are now, we presume, steaming to safe harbors in North Korea, Cuba, and China at full speed. Some have suggested that the U.S. would be a safe harbor, but after Biden demanded “10% for the big guy” they changed their minds. We can suggest seven more oligarchs to be targeted and torpedoed by US Navy submarines.
It has been widely reported that virtually all of Russia’s oligarchs have Vladimir Putin’s tacit approval for their business dealings and illegal dumping of wastes, if not his outright help. The Guardian recently published: “Bill Browder, a financier and critic of Russia, said those on Alexi Navalny’s list of 355 of Putin’s oligarch “enablers” should now be sanctioned by the UK, adding: ‘You don’t get to be an oligarch unless you basically suck Putin’s dick.’”
